Info: Most emulators have very low framerates in this game. Nemu64 0.8 and 1964 v0.8.5 do not seem to have this issue. The best experience is using an overclocking emulator with an overclock of at least 200 MHz. Greater settings (such as up to 400MHz), will significantly boost the overall framerate.

Info: Does not require any additional fixes to get the correct menu effects unlike the (U) and (E) versions of Castlevania. Project64 and 1964 have issues with cracks and pops in the music, while Mupen64 gets most audio perfect in this game.

Note: Mupen64 is the only one suggested although the game can be played in other emulators. Project64 and 1964 show some graphics errors that does not happen with Mupen64.

Info: These games suffer from random hanging in almost all emulators. Pausing and unpausing the game in Project64 by using the emulator's options fixes this hang. Apollo does not have random hangs. The Glide64 help file suggests Nemu64 for these games but requires fixes and doesn't have sound.
